Cadie Desbiens-Desmeules is a French-Canadian artist working across generative art, conceptualism and artificial intelligence. Her installations, site-specific works and mixed-reality environments take the instruments of Big Tech, recommendation engines, data-labelling pipelines, consent interfaces, generative models and turn them against themselves, exposing how these systems shape thought, language and identity. A former television journalist and VFX artist, she comes to each technology by first learning how it works, then staging its mechanics as both medium and subject.
Her work has been presented internationally, including at Arsenal Contemporary Art (Montréal), the International Symposium on Electronic Art (ISEA) and MUTEK. In 2019, We Are Europe named her one of 64 of the most inspiring European creative personalities. In 2021, her work was included in the 5th International Digital Art Biennial (BIAN), alongside Refik Anadol and Ryoji Ikeda.
Desbiens-Desmeules is currently based in Lisbon, Portugal. She continues to be active as a creative director and visual artist as Push 1 stop, collaborating with top industry talent and agencies such as Silent Partners Studio, where she has been working for Riot Games, Beyonce, Jay-Z, Billie Eilish and Bruno Mars just to name a few.
